Forging Eden
An impossible dream and the making of a legendary vineyard.
When Napa Valley’s most seasoned vintners walked away from 750 acres of unforgiving terrain, Jan Krupp saw something different.
Forging Eden tells the story of how one man’s vision, grit, and relentless determination transformed a mountainside into one of Napa Valley’s most iconic vineyards.
A journey of risk, reinvention, and enduring legacy.

Where others saw rocks, boulders, and brush—no water source, no way in— I saw possibility. In that unforgiving land, I envisioned row upon row of vines producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley.
— Jan Krupp, MD
